Portrait of Eternity is an original acrylic and mixed media painting from the artist’s earlier body of work, Expressions in Abstract.

Created before the development of her current figurative language, the work explores what remains when identity begins to dissolve. Four silent forms emerge from a dark field, carrying only the memory of a face rather than a portrait itself.

Instead of describing an individual, the composition reflects on presence, memory, and the invisible traces that outlive physical appearance. The figures exist between material and absence, inviting the viewer to contemplate what endures when narrative, features, and certainty disappear.

Although part of an earlier collection, Portrait of Eternity already reveals the questions that continue to shape Cristina Gabriela’s practice today: permanence and impermanence, the visible and the invisible, and the quiet search for what remains beyond form.
