Fragments of Time

Fragments of Time belongs to my Earlier Collection, where abstraction became a way of exploring memory, movement and transformation before recognizable forms entered my work.

Built through successive layers of acrylic, texture and gesture, the painting preserves traces rather than images. Every mark remains visible as evidence of a moment that once existed, allowing the surface to become an accumulation of time rather than a representation of it.

Gold emerges throughout the composition like fragments that survive change, while darker passages suggest everything that has already been transformed or forgotten. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the painting invites the viewer to move through it as one would move through memory itself—discovering connections, interruptions and moments that reveal themselves only with time.

Created before my current body of figurative paintings, sculptures and installations, Fragments of Time already contains many of the questions that continue to guide my practice today: what remains, what disappears, and how experience leaves permanent traces long after the moment has passed.
