Breath of the Abyss is an original 120 × 90 cm acrylic and mixed media painting on canvas from the Expressions in Abstract collection.

Built through concentric movements of deep blues, black and luminous gold, the composition draws the eye toward an infinite centre that resists definition. The vortex becomes both a physical movement and a psychological space, suggesting the moment when certainty dissolves and transformation begins.

Created during an earlier stage of Cristina Gabriela’s artistic journey, the work already reveals an enduring fascination with invisible realities, silence and the relationship between darkness and light. Rather than portraying the abyss as something to fear, the painting presents it as a place of possibility—where every descent also contains the potential for emergence.
