Ananke explores the invisible force that binds one presence to another. Emerging softly from an almost impenetrable darkness, two anonymous souls are connected by a single gesture: one hand holding the other.

Their identities and relationship remain undefined. They may be guiding, protecting, following or simply refusing to let one another cross the unknown alone. Above them, a distant light offers no explanation or certainty; it exists only as a quiet calling.

Derived from the ancient Greek idea of necessity and inevitability, Ananke reflects upon the bonds, forces and passages that shape human existence beyond conscious choice. Through chiaroscuro, tenebrism and sfumato, the figures appear suspended between material form and disappearance.
