Where Light Descends

Where Light Descends explores the moment when light is no longer something to be sought, but something that chooses to arrive.

A solitary figure stands within a rugged landscape shaped by time and memory. Towering textured forms rise on either side, creating a passage that leads the eye toward a luminous descent suspended above. The light does not appear as a destination waiting in the distance; instead, it moves toward the figure, suggesting that transformation begins when we become still enough to receive it.

Built through layers of oil paint and sculptural textures, the surface carries the weight of erosion, permanence, and human experience. The rough material contrasts with the softness of the atmospheric centre, allowing darkness and illumination to exist together without conflict.

Rather than illustrating a specific narrative, Where Light Descends invites contemplation. It asks whether the moments that shape us come from the paths we choose, or from the light that quietly finds us when we least expect it.
