Several human presences emerge from one continuous body of matter, joined by an origin that remains visible within them.

Symphysis takes its title from the Greek idea of growing together—a natural union in which distinct forms remain connected through a shared body.

Several little souls rise from a single terracotta structure. Each carries an individual posture and presence, yet none is completely separate from the matter that holds them. The sculpture exists between the individual and the collective, exploring the invisible bonds that connect human beings even when every life follows its own path.

The taller central presence introduces a quiet tension within the group. It may be perceived as a witness, a protector or simply another soul occupying a different place within the same shared existence. No fixed relationship is imposed, allowing the meaning of the work to remain open.

Finished with acrylic and liquid gold, the sculpture carries an aged, almost excavated quality. Gold moves across its uneven surface like a trace of light preserved within matter, revealing each figure without removing the darkness beneath.

Symphysis speaks of separate beings held within one origin—individual presences that remain connected by something deeper than what can be seen.
