Halo of Silence

Halo of Silence is an original 120 × 160 cm acrylic and mixed media painting on canvas from the Expressions in Abstract collection.

Dominated by a radiant golden halo suspended above a landscape of dark forms, the painting explores the relationship between presence, silence and collective existence. The luminous circle does not function as a symbol with a fixed meaning, but as a point of convergence—an invisible centre toward which every presence is quietly drawn.

Beneath it, countless subtle marks suggest a multitude gathered in stillness. Individual identities dissolve into a shared rhythm, creating a dialogue between the singular and the collective. The work invites prolonged contemplation, allowing light and silence to become the true subjects of the painting.

Created during an earlier period of Cristina Gabriela’s artistic practice, Halo of Silence already reveals themes that would later become central to her contemporary language: the search for presence, the relationship between visible and invisible realities, and the experience of standing before something larger than oneself.
